Turbo oil line to pan gasket...

The gasket between the flexible turbo oil drain line to oil pan and turbo itself looks like its made of a paper-ish material. How should this be installed?? Dry and bolt it down or with a bit of high temp silicone?? I know the gasket has a small o-ring impression built into it but i dont wanna throw it all together then have a leak. Thanks in advance.

section 15-19

says nothing about silicone. at all.

"install the gasket so that its protrusion faces in the direction shown in the illustration"

(the tab faces towards the passenger side of the vehcle)

i have always used silicon, or copper paint on my paper gaskets for my evos and never had a problem.

just make sure if you use copper spry to apply it while its tacky.

yep, or if you decide to use silicone put a small amount on the tip of your finger aand smoothly cover the entire gasket front and back

^ thats what I did but it leaked about a half quart in between my oil change. I would rather be safe then sorry. I have ordered it from Mitsubishiparts.com but apparently its back ordered because I still havent gotten it. I hate the dealership down here so I will not drive by them if I didnt have to.
