Right Rear Hub/Bearing Replacement Question - Ebrake

To all that have removed their hubs:

The front isn't too bad to work on. However, on the rear, you have to mess with the ebrake. I'm replacing the entire hub, does anyone know how to get the ebrake cable in/out without much difficulty. I've never messed with a drum-style brake and it's scaring me from doing the project !

Thanks for the help.

Release the e-brake handle.

Take pics and notes of the e-brake assembly before you undo anything. The cable will remove easily once all the spring-loaded tensions are removed.

Keep the shoe slack adjuster/bolt (gold part w/ teeth) intact and untampered. The end without the threads will fall out very easily. Nothing holds the end together once removed.

Don't tighten or loosen the bolt. Again, keep the slack adjuster/bolt assembly as you found it.

Can't stress enough how important it is to take pics and notes before you start taking things apart.

Good luck!
