im putting my evo on a diet and looking to possibly do a carbon roof to lose some weight. if anyone knows what is in volved and can let me know so in prepared that would help so much. i have all the tools i just mainly want to know if i need the torch or if its only rivits. anything helps. thanks

thats not a mod I would suggest you do yourself unless you have alot of experience with that kind of work.

 

i do have a decent amout of experience. ive worked as a tech for toyota for about 5 yrs now. i have another buddy thats a body guy that will be giving me a hand too.

 

i thought the carbon fiber roof was just a skin?

 

Its a full replacement for the metal roof skin.

 

yes a full replacement. i saw pics of the ams evo but cant really tell how its held on. i really want to know how the oem roof is on and how hard itll be to get off.

i sam the pics of it on. looks like just bolted in. no bit deal there. its getting the old one out. i want to be sure i have everything so im not running around like a crazy guy cause i didnt grab the right tools from my job.
