wheel bearings?
Take your wheels, calipers, rotors and axles out on both sides then take out the 4 14mm bolts holding the bearing assy to the hub and don't forget to unplug the abs sensor.
It is easy and could be done in 1 hour.
You will need 32mm socket 14mm socket 17 mm socket 17 mm wrench hammer.

Not sure if its like the 02 lancer but pretty sure it is . Unless you have pressing tools you cant do it your self , they need to be pressed out and pressed in by a pretty big force . I had to change out my front ones also about 2 months ago and just bought 2 new ones (napa 90 for both)
Took the car apart and took the spindles to mitsubishi , they couldnt write up a ticket so a service tech changed them out on the side for 90 bucks!

JACKSTANDS with floorjack
Remove caliper by 2 main bolts, hang from upper strut spring with wire/bungy, don't remove hydraulic line
remove rotor
remove ABS sensor and backing plate if possible
remove big axle center nut, spray axle splines with rust penetrant (not WD40) and let soak. Can loosen this bolt with wheel on and on the ground, access through center cap, just don't ever roll the car with the axle nut loose, and don't tighten weighted.
bang axle loose but don't drive it back very far, careful of the threads, use a mallet or hammer and block of wood.
remove lower ball joint pinch bolt and pivot/pry ball joint out of upright by prying down on lower A-arm, careful of the lower ball joint rubber boot, it can get pinched and will subsequently fail, pad it with a rag and soon as you get it out of the upright
while pulling upright/hub outward, smack axle out of hub center and hang off to the side with wire/bungy. you may want to remove the hydraulic brake hose bracket to allow the strut to swing out far enough
remove 4 hub bolts from back of upright
spray back of upright with penetrant where hub bolts up and in bolt holes
let soak minimum 5 minutes
smack hub out from the back, brass hammer is the best. if regular hammer try not to hit the upright. The manual calls for a slide hammer with bracket that bolts onto the wheel lugs, FWIW. To get more accurate blows you can use 2 hammers, hold one right on where you want to strike and hit the back of it with another hammer(safety glasses)
you can leave one bolt in the hub with just a few threads to keep the hub from flying out when it finally breaks loose.
more spray/soak if it doesn't come out right away
going back together, clean the dirt/rust out of the upright where the hub bolts up (wire brush?) and anti seize the axle splines where they go through the hub
if the axle splines are really rusty, clean them with a wire brush
be careful of the ABS sensor and sensor ring, they are fragile
don't over tighten the axle nut, it can increase the bearing preload and make it fail early. 167 ft lbs is max, 140 is enough.
