How To Dynamat your doors (lots of pics)
just finished all my doors with peel and seal. going to put layer of dynamat extreme.
btw circuitcity has dynamats 60% off.
it will add some weight to my car and i'm planning to lose weight so it'll be even =)
hope someone put diy on dynamating floors. Have no idea how to take them out

I've been doing some researching and if I'm not mistaken there are 2 types of sound packing. One is for squeeks and rattles, the other is for road noise.
Now if those mats work by putting mass on top then they are probably best for sweeks and rattles. But if you want to reduce road noise would use carpet padding.
Here is a thread where the guy used home depot carpet padding and it quieted his car from road noise. http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/audio...ear-seats.html
What do you guys think?

i did a similar project a year ago in my lancer.
just went to home depot and spend a couple of hours looking for the right materials
i choose some building material tehy use inside walls to protect again cold weather. sort of thin layer of asfalt with a thin layer of aluminum. it looks like Dynamat. provably without the noise killing rate of dynamat but WTF! only $30 for the roll
i did my four doors with the roll and had some extra for the trunk
outside noise and heat decreased a 50% and my Pioneers speakers sond amazing
oh! use some pink panter insulation right behind the speakers

FYI
you should have left the "door holes" open, OR you should have dynmatted the inside of the door itself
I used Rick's Raamatt

great price, SOLID product, and unlike the poster above- it is NOT aphalt based which SMELLS and can melt in high heat.

did you end up putting the weather protector sheet back on? im not sure what else to call it.
i didnt remove the foam block or plastic thing, and somehow after they put tinting on the windows it made the window a little bit thicker and it ended up scraping the tinting. so whenever i rolled down the window i got this scrape mark on the tinting because the rain protector sheet kept slipping when it was hot because of that black crap melting. im not too happy about that i think i will try to maybe wax to fill in some of the scrapes
No, it didn't make sense for to me to put it back on, it's useless, I threw it out. Also the foam cube should be removed. I don't see why you would want to dynamat on the inside of that hole where the cube was. I covered the hole with dynamat flat, and it felt strong enough that it wasn't going to flex in or out (also in this case it doesn't get in the way of the window which slides behind the cube).
thats a good idea but the only thing i can wrong with it is what if something happens to your power window motor or your window falls off track or something like that.
why didnt you put it on the inside of the door instead of right behind the door panel?
