Evo 8 cruise control installation
-Franc
Here are a few pictures of my installation, nothing 'strange' from franc's minus the module install location. Which I bought an Evo that the battery was relocated to the rear, so I had more space to play with. I set the DIP switches as franc was told, nothing bad, not as smooth as an OEM cruise, but no 'issues' that are terrible. I may call and talk to Rostra and see if we can smooth out the throttle some from what it is now, seems more 'on/off' than slowly opens slowly closes, which seems to be necessary with a turbo car that is this aggressive.
My stalk I installed so that the green LED light was hidden by the steering wheel, purposely to not bother me when using it at night/dark. Went on a trip last weekend, and am glad I positioned it where I did. Buttons are easily accessed, w/o issue, looks to be a bit closer than franc did his, as well as closer to the driver. I wanted to keep it close to 90deg from the column, as for a more 'OEM' appearance... (laughing.. as the writing and stalk is obviously not a japanese match!)

The module is bolted to the bolt in front of the driver's side shock tower, that the fuse box bolts to. I will remove that wire tie, as I am also going to brace it from below. I have not had any issues, just think it wouldn't hurt.

Brian,
How does the car behave with the 3, 7, and 10 switches on "ON"? Any surging if you set the cruise while going uphill or does it pick up the speed setting right away?

franc01- There is still some, I planned to call them, but haven't yet done that. It isn't terrible, the car has drivability issues from the previous owner anyway.. I will likely go back to some more stock intake parts to improve the drivability. (the abrupt shutting of the throttlebody, BOV shutter, open throttle... repeat)
Still am probably 95% thrilled with the functionality of the unit though. I'll update if/when I call them for some troubleshooting.

Last week I changed my intake and while I was there removed the battery so I could adjust the DIP switches. I had originally set switches 1, 3, and 10 on and the rest off. I changed them to Rostra's recommended 3, 7, and 10 on and the rest off and it's much better. It really is close to a factory cruise and I can reset my speed while going uphill with no problem now.
Well worth it considering the cost and convenience!
Take care,
Franc

Franc- Same settings here, and now that I have the drivability issues worked out (bad tune + bad quality BOV).. settings seem to work fine as well.
Agreed I couldn't imagine not having this again... Esp on long trips on boring highways.
