Is my turbo timer working correctly?

Hello all, well I just got a Greddy Turbo timer installed along with the harness. After the install I noticed that when I take the key out it almost seems like it does a "brown out." The engine wants to shut down, then maybe a half second power is constant untill the timer has count downed. I had a WRX with a Greddy T. Timer and it never did this, the transistion was smooth. Any toughts on what I should do? Will this hurt the car?

Do you have anything else running in the car while it's turbo timing?

No, I make sure everything is turned off. The funny thing is, it won't "brown out" after I turn the key and take it out, then put the key back in and switch past acc. and take it out again to try to duplicate the problem.

I just installed mine and it does the same thing. I think what it does is when we turn the key off, it switches over to the TT. I believe that is where we get that half second delay. other than that it works fine.

I think it does it when you turn the key slowly. If you're quick about it, the TT kicks in right away and it doesn't "brown out".

mines fine, but i have the HKS type 1 and the type 1 harness.
from what i have seen, if your using a brand for the harness different from the timer, it may lead to problems.

Also, check to see if your wire connecting to the e-brake is on tightly.

And lastly, check to make sure that you have a good ground. If you're working underneath the steering column, youll see a good ground point that actualy has something else grounded there already.

Yeah mine does that also. It will count down, then go back to the setting. Also I noticed if you turn the key real slow when shutting down the car, that the car will almost cut off then the TT kicks the car back on. So I make sure I make quick key turns.

Please help...

I installed a GReddy Full Auto Turbo Timer 4 months ago. Everything worked fine until the other day. My brother borrowed my car and when he got home he left the key in the "ON" position. I woke up the next day and found out that my batery got drained. I jumpstarted it but it still won't start so I replaced the battery and my turbo timer doesn't count down anymore.

It still turns on and all the other features seem to still work except for the timer itself. Sucks! After a drive, when I turn the ignition off, both the timer and the engine shuts off right away.

How do I reset the timer (if it's even possible)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
