Fog lamps on w/ parking lights?
I was wondering if anyone out there knows how to rewire our Evo/Lancer fog lights so that they will come on with only the parking lights and stay on with the bright lights? I did this with a previous car that I owned and it was great. I used the brights and fogs together for late night "bat outta hell" trips. Thanks
sounds feasable. i'll try it thanks--- by the looks of your mods you must have a real monster on your hands! Which one of these mods would you recommend first? Any of these mods were you not really happy with? sorry off topic
Not sure if this is the case with the Evolution. But in my Focus, there was a relay that prevented the fog lights from being on with the high beams and prevented them from being on with only the parking lamps. But when you took it out and bridged the correct terminals you could turn the fogs on any way you wanted.

The jdm car alows both on at the same time.. could it be as simple as a circuit adjustment for you guys? Would you like me to post a circuit diagram from the e7 gsr?

Simply this is not an easy fix. Not that I looked at the shop manual and I don't see a configuration for non-US. My take on this is that there is either a different ECU or different software which can be loaded into the ECU.
I hope it's not that complicated strat. When I was trying to wire the fogs to the dimmer I was trying to get the switch power from the dimmer to switch the fogs, since the int/guage lights come on w/ oarking and everything else. The fuse I kept blowing was under the hood. It was the 7.5 fuse for the left taillight. At this point a circuit diagram would be as much help as anything, thanks jemm.
Strat has a point,
Here is the pinout of the US front ecu which is the same pinout as the Jap one according to my manuals.
I don't see any connectors for the foglamps..

The simplified wiring bus is a serial bus which is used to reduce the volume and mass of wire in the vehicle. The Evo is very advanced as compared to just about everyone else. This is a technology which is used by BMW, MB and Volvo.
Pin one on the front ecu per my schematic is the control signal for the fog light relay.

Yeah strat, this US diagram clearly shows the Front-Ecu turning on the fogs via the foglight relay. The EVO VII is all different, they call them position lights in that manual, and i see no relay.
