I called a mitsu local dealership here in Atlanta and they told me once the airbag has been removed there's no way you can get rid off the SRS light. But i'm still optimistic that somebody out there know how to disable the SRS light.

You can buy a scanner at your local auto parts store (they are expensive), if no one in the area that you are friends with has one. You have to reset the code, unplug the battery, then install a resistor. Once the resistor is in place you plug the battery in and then it thinks the resistor is coming from the airbag module in the steering wheel, so it will not throw the code. You can not just unplug the battery and have the code go away though, I am pretty sure. You have to clear the code first, then install your resistor pack.

The SRS scanner is much like an OBD2 scanner where it plugs into the diagnostic port and resets the SRS code. If you have an aftermarket steering wheel and no resistor, don't bother trying to reset it because it wont work. If you find the resistor , get it installed and then find a shop that will try it. The dealership would probably not do it since you have an aftermarket steering wheel installed.

Something like this might work.

Pull the Air bag computer out. The light should go away.
