So, I installed a Deka mini battery using a plastic adjustable bracket and j-hooks from Autozone to secure it (for now, at least).

In order to get it in I couldn't get the separate tab on the negative strap (circled below) connected to the original location:



Any suggestions / comments on how to connect this part of the strap, and the importance of it? (Car starts and runs fine.)

Mine isn't connected with my mini batt kit. It just ensures a good ground to the 10mm bolt also securing the other ground wires.
