VDO gauge illumination is a good match to the stock instruments.

VDO Oil temp sender/drain plug M14x1.5, which replaces the factory drain plug. It even comes with it's own copper gasket.

Oil Pressure sender adapter for oil filter housing, 3/8BSPT. The adapter is pictured next to the plug it replaced. At the time I couldn't readily locate a 3/8BSPT to 1/8NPT for the sender, so I had to go from 3/8BSPT to 1/4NPT to 1/8NPT. That's why there are 2 adapters attached to eachother.

Thanks for all the info...I think knowing the thread specs will certainly hel 42 figure out some stuff on the kits for the EVO if they make them. They have been more than helpful with me to try and get something together...I love the fact that they look so good with the LEDs. I haven;t decided what color I want...My CD player has red white and blue lighting on it just like the whole center console...and then the tach and everything is red..I might go with the Blue just to kinda go along with the rest of the center console...although it might clash a little......ahhh decisions decisions....

So I ended up making use of the plugged hole on the oil filter housing.
Pictured is the oil pressure sender and oil temp sender which doubles as a drain plug. Hope this helps and saves others time....
Hey .. I was looking at your setup since I was looking at a place to install the same things.. and finally it dawned on me .. where you put the sending unit above the oil filter is where I have my oil thermostat

Confirm USDM Evos doesn't have oil coolers ?????????

Evo's do infact have oil coolers. You can see it through the hole in the front spoiler/bumper on the passenger side. It's big, you can't miss it.

In case someone is looking for one for a 3/8 to 1/8NPT adapter, they can be found here near the bottom of the page.

For my own installation I'll use an AN-4 flare adapter and plumb with braided steel up to a mounting point on the firewall using one of these. For some reason that sender being down in the clutter around the filter would make me nervous. That's just me tho'...

Looks nice evo_007. I was planning on something similar because I really like the clean look of the VDO gauges. I'm a bit torn on which ones to get I definitely want boost and EGT, but I also want oil temp and pressure. Unless I figure out how I'm going to mount four gauges one of the oil gauges has to go.

I sent 42 an email too, one thing they mentioned was that the EGT gauge apparently uses different bulbs so you can't just swap in the red LED. I went ahead and ordered the boost gauge for now and will probably install it this weekend in a temporary location. They seem to have good customer service and prices -- I hope they continue to develop their ties with the Evo community.

EDIT -- My bad, the EGT gauge uses the mini LEDs which ARE available in red. I didn't read the email 42 Draft Designs sent me correctly, Evan told me that the mini LEDs weren't available in amber. I gotta give him credit for great info via email. I'll definitely go there when I want to get my other gauges.

Me too....I originally E-mailed them a few days ago asking them about Adapters for the EVO....instead they decided to consider making custom kits for us. It seems like everyone is trying to find a way mout gauges in their EVO so this could be huge for them, especially after seeing how their gauge plates and gauges fit in our cars. Personally I'm pretty excited to see what comes out of all this...lol nobody wants the ugly factory gauges....

I'd love to see a replacement dash panel that has 3-52mm gauge mounting holes in place of the upper DIN opening. I'd buy it in a heartbeat if it looked stock and was fairly priced. A properly integrated gauge kit would make the deal a no brainer.

juyanith just an idea with your 4 gauge ordeal....maybe you could stick the turbo gauge on your steering column like a lot of people do so its more central then install the oil pressure/ oil temp/ and EGT gauges in the center console. I think the steering column thing looks good if it is staggered as an angle off to the right ride...looks like a fighter jet PLus is pretty cost effective

although 42 is working on a BUNCH of products right now, we might be able to work something out for an Evo panel... as far as the EGT gauges go, we do sell LED's that fit those, and they are available in the same colors as the normal LEDs

How does the 43 Panel connect to the dash anyways? It looks like it fits reall well based off the EVO pics at the begining of this thread. Is it pretty secure?
