clutch install question, differential wont come out.

Hello,

For those of you out there. I am having a hard time sliding out the differential, it slides out about 2 inches and seems to be stuck. Do I just have to pry it out real hard, or is there anything else holding it. Everything seems loose already, and it looks like there might a clip or a ring or something.

That is the last step before, I can slid out the transmission.

any suggection will help.

thanks

I believe there is an inner sleeve of some sort that needs a slide hammer to remove. Someone did a write up on a clutch replacement and said he didn't use one, but this seems like its the exception not the rule.

Do a search and you should be able to find it. It was a pretty good read. There were pics. and what not. It may help you out.

There are two shafts that must be removed with a slide hammer. They are caught in there by a retaining clip.

The only hard part was bench pressing the transmission back up

You need to remove the shaft that sticks out of the drivers side axle hole in the tranny. It requires a slide hammer. You only need to remove the driver's side shaft.
