Yeah, like nOOdle said "whatever works", I guess!
The adjustment I was talking about was for the type headlight that has no HIDs or electronic tilt adjustment. Just some plain old Halogens, and whats more - no fogs!
Came on some of the JMD evo7s; so I installed an HID kit!

view of the high beam and the foglights ..
Where yours are .. so there are some differences ..

This is for those with the electronic tilt headlights

PS N00dle has a great idea .. thanks to him I got mine adjusted so I can just shine those %#)^($% driving around with highbeams on.. yet won't bother others at other times

I'm confused. I had my car at the dealer last week and asked them if they could adjust my low beams (HID's) being they've always seemed too low, but now are worde with my car being lowered. The tech tried everything you posted and nothing worked besides raising the fog light and high beam. He called Mitsu and the engineer told him that it's not possible to adjust the low beam.

I've read every post on this thread and I can't figure out if you guys are adjusting the fogs and highs or you are adjusting the HID's.

I'm willing to do this myself, but I want to know for sure what I'm doing.

If you have the electronic tilt ( ie near the foglight button.. there's numbers from 1-4 adjusting the tilt electronically) .. then u'll find the tilt mechanism in a diver's helmet shaped thing (2nd picture) .. you need to make sure there's no power when you adjust .. coz the electronics will try to readjust back ..

what I did was shine at a wall .. switch off then adjust the lights .. switch on and compare the position .. then adjust until I was happy

Good luck

When you say "if you have the electronic tilt" are you meaning that just incase I have a RS? If not, I though all Evo's came with the electronic tilt besides the RS.

Anyways, I went out to my car and seen the place shown in the pic, but what do I use to stick inside there? By "no power" your just meaning the headlights need to be off right?

I think I'm making this more confusing than it should be, but the dealer totally screwed me up by telling me that it wasn't physically possible to adjust these things.

Yes .. not all evo comes with the tilt headlight .. and HIDs ..

Philips head screwdriver .. and yes .. make sure the headlights are off before you start adjusting ..

If you leave the headlight on, then you'll hear the motor whining away trying to readjust itself whenever you turn the screw..

D'oh! Thats why when I adjusted my lights I heard the motor for the lights kick on. Driver's side did it twice towards the end of the adjustment, thought I was adjusting them to far up with the lights set on two trying to get them back on zero. I'll have to do it again with the lights off for the drivers side.

Okay....what side is this? I looked on my passenger side and this thing is covered up by a little plate. I can't even see the drivers side. This is really starting to make me mad. I sat out in the garage and looked all around and can't get anything to even come close to fitting in there. Did you remover the little plate or something?

Passenger side .. the white plastic you see is the coolant overflow bottle .. I didn't remove any plates .. what you see on the fotoes is exactly what I see .. the gears are inside those little portholes .. if you only see the gears.. you need to look deeper inside .. find where the main beams are, then look back from there .. the adjustment thing should be pretty close there ..

AWDturbo4 .. I had no problems on the driver side also .. but the other side kept adjusting back by itself

mksevo .. the evo I drive is also not in the options list .. does that mean my car doesn't exist ??? .. you'll never know what dealers do to lower their own costs .. neither did the list you supply indicate that electronic tilt is standard equipment list ..

Im having the same problem. My "portholes" to adjust the low beams (I have electronic tilt) are covered up by little plates!
