How do you 'dechrome' a cusco catch can?

Hi, need some help. I want a stealth black matte effect. Don't want a bling bling element in the engine bay. Do you just paint over the can? Will the paint stick and not flake off? Thanks and sorry if this has been asked before.

Flat black paint or plastidip but if you spill anything on the plastidip it will come off.

Sand it with larger grit paper and a coat of black paint should stick better.
