uego questions

Hello everyone. I did some research on what I am looking to do. But I ended up more confused. I am a noob at tuning so please be gentle lol. I have a 03 evo and want to install my new uego wideband and need to know where to place the bung. I have buscher racing exhaust. I'm guessing I place it right after the bend of the downpipe? Also, when I am able to start tuning with evoscan, do I have to eliminate the rear o2 sensor or can I leave it alone? Thanks in advance.

I mounted mine between the firewall and the motor. Majority of people say its ok to mount it in the stock O2 location, but I did that and mines died.

When you get Evoscan (Tephra V7) you can eliminate the stock O2 function but first you will have to wire the AEM into the ECU where the stock O2 was. (PLEASE get a pro who has done the wiring before) You will also have to turn the dial on the UEGO guage to so it will Data Log. Look at the link and use that manual. Essentially you want it to read @ 0-1v which would be P4 on the dial. The guage should display P04 once the key is turned.

Ok but would it be better to mount the bung right where the pipe bends down from the downpipe into the straight pipe?

I would put it within a couple of feet from the bend. I have mine 1 foot from where it connects to the test pipe and it's been fine for years.

Where ever you put it, be sure the wires point up. If you mount it so the tip points up, water will collect on it and ruin it.

Anyone else had problems with simply unplugging the stock 02 sensor and using that bung for a wideband?
