Thanks for this info! It came in real handy the second time I had to repair the broken plastic supports on the bumper lip. Stupid autocross cones need to learn to get out of the way Trying to take off that lip without removing the entire bumper is the really really really hard way to do things.

This is the only car i've ever owned where you have to take the headlight and bumper off of the car to replace the headlight bulbs, poor design. But nice write up!

The 2g DSMs were almost that hard.. you could just leave the bottom bolt out so you didn't have to wrestle with the headlight as hard.

Evo Guy... there are no clips on the front crash bar, you just need to worry about the 2 clips on the side of the fenders holding it in, one snap and it's all out.

there aren't any clips persay. but there are some metal pieces attached to the bumper cover that go into 2 holes in the crash beam. my bumper used to rattle a little from these so i put some dynamat around the holes, problem solved.

I can't see the pictures so I apologize in advance if this sounds crazy. I removed my bumper last week to do a few things and I need the correct name and part number for the screw/clip pieces. The best way that I can describe what I'm talking about is you totally remove the screw and then the rest of the clip just pops out with a little nudge here and there. They are located along the rear of the mud guards. I believe there are 2-3 of them on each side of the wheels. I hope this wasn't too confusing.

Has anyone tried doing it the way the manuel says to? It says to just unscrew a couple screws in the wheel well and fold back the liner to gain access to the bulb... Sound A LOT easier than taking off the whole bumber!!

I didn't follow all of the threads, but I did this to change the side markers since I forgot to put a bulb in after I put the whole car back together

Ok, well I changed mine out this morning. Definately not possible to do it the way the manuel tells you to do it. Don't know what that is all about about, but it wasn't that difficult at all. Just time consuming, considering all we are doing it changing a couple bulbs...

damn, I was going to try to go through the fender liner/well...Only plus is that HID bulbs are supposed to last much much longer than regular halogen bulbs

thorough writeup. For those that haven't removed their bumpers (I can't believer there are that many of you) it is not that hard. It can be done by yourself and it won't take 2 - 3 hours once you're practiced at it.
