yep you have to take off the whole front bumper and take off all 4 screws on each light then install the new lights and then put the lghts back on along with the front bumper! Thn your all set

headlight mistake

unbelieving how hard is to change light bulbs on evo 8, I could change driver side, with some problems, but not major, without need take bumper o fender off . Now im trying passenger side and I can't.
Somebody knows how to change regular light bulb 9005/6 (low beam) without taken front bumper off o fender or at list not big deal for just regular light bulb????

tnx!

You dont neeed to pull the fender but you'll need to pretty much pull the bumper. At least drpo it enough to get to the bolts on the head lamp.

You can kinda go through the fender well but its more trouble than its worth for my hands

This is what I did. I unbolted/unclipped the bolts/clips on top of the bumper, removed all the headlight bolts I could reach, then carefully manipulated the light so I could reach the rear housing and bulbs. Its time consuming, but not hard at all. You definitly dont have to remove the bumper completely.

I'm glad I haven't had the need to change a bulb on my headlight. It sounds like a complete PITA. Couldn't the wonderful people at Mitsubishi come up with a more intuitive way to go about it???

It could be low headlight fluid, check that first before taking it apart. /jk.

Yeah, you kind of have to take off the bumper if you dont want to risk scratching or breaking anything.
