It works quit well. I did it and I only get a leak or smell of exhaust under boost. Here's how I did it:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just remove the cutout assembly.

Clean the housing only(not the butterfly itself) with carb clean.

Then put a bead of high temp silicone on the edge of the housing/butterfly mating surface.

Close the butterfly over the bead of silicone.

Clean off excess from the butterfly and housing with a rag or such.

Allow to dry overnight without opening.

Open the cutout the next day(may take a couple of "back and fourth " type motions to get lose) Now you have a much better seal. Not perfect, but much better.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hope this helps a little.

QTP mailed me a turndown and the official downpipe instructions. It states to use "RTV red silicone", so thats what Im going to use.

Sounds good to me. I would say that the turndown is a must with this mod. I tried running without it to save a little weight and nearly blew off all my undercoating from that area on my first run. I can imagine running without for awhile would do some damage.

**Update**
Updated info for sealing the cutout and turndown selections.
I purchased an awesome set of switches off of ebay, and I am still waiting for delivery from china to get them. I will explain my switching system in detail the day I get those things!!

Finally recieved the switches, used the above schematic to wire them with the addition of a power/gnd wire(s) that goes to a relay for other things. Switch install can be found here

Pretty neat. I already used the clock location for my Valentine 1 radar detector display, though.

I dont hear any leaking from mine. all the leaking that I previously had was coming from a megan knockoff header that I installed at the same time as the QTP. I removed the header and put on my ported stocker and no more leak. the sound you may be hearing may just be exhaust reverberation off the stainless steel. Or you may have another leak like I did.

Thanks for a great product, QTP. I love it.

Mine leaks. I think by design it leaks (holes in the corners of the butterfly shaft). More noticeable with cams. Put your hand over the closed cutout and you'll feel the air pulse.

Under Torque ( 1st and 2nd gear ) the Top of the flange is hitting the Driveshaft a little bit. I Tried to adjust the downpipe @ the donut But its all the way tighted on the left side ( to make it come away from the Driveshaft and its still hitting )

Any other suggestions other then Grinding part of the flange off...
