8's arent exempt from it, I have an 8 and mine is flickering. The diagram shown is from the 8 manual because that is what I used to locate mine. Changed it and the light has stopped.

If you take it to the dealer they should change it under warranty. I just got mine changed out yesterday at my local dealer, no questions asked; and my evo is modded.

I've been having the same problem with my 8. the light flickers only at idle when the car is warmed up. Seeing these posts makes me feel better about it being the sensor. symptoms are just like yours.

would it be possible to relocate the sensor on an 8 to where it is on a 9 and just plug the hole in the back of the block with a bolt?

This of course is what the sensor looks like..

This is the best pic I could get with it in the motor.. Its about 4 to 5 inches under the intake manifold.. Very easy to feel for...

And a random one.. I couldnt find my deep well so I unscrewed the spade plug.. if you have a deep well you dont have to..

Hope that helps a little..

I don't usually post very often because I normally find all my info using the search option but I can't seem to find the oil pressure sensor on my evo 8 I want to replace it. Please show me where it is. I could not find it yesterday while I was changing my oil.

It's on the back of the block. Look at the diagram ak47po posted.

How do I access the sensor thru the bottom or the top of the engine and do I have to remove anything else to see it.

on a 9 its in the back of oil filter housing take off right hand front wheel you should be able access it

on a 8 its at the back of the block left hand side below the steel water pipe that runs along the back of the block so not as easy
