the best way to do it is to separate the ignition wire somewhere where its completely hidden and hard as hell to get to,possibly behind the dash, that way if they do try to hot wire the car, they cant tell where its cut.

Not a bad idea however I would put the switch on the fuel pump or ECU power just to avoid how easy it is to track down a ignition or starter kill.
If everyone is looking to do this the proper way would be to use a relay to break the power and the switch to activate the relay unless a heavy duty switched is used that can accept whatever current draw normally exists on the wire.
Unfortunately a plug and play design would be very difficult splicing would be necessary to whatever wire you chose to break the power on.

Anyone with any questions on doing this shoot me a pm

uhmm...our cars have immobilizer, you cannot start the car without the proper key signal. the thief would have to switch the ecu. this is why the evo's you here that get stolen are towed away by thieves.

i guess this would be good for the stand alone guys without immobilizer option

Coming from the Honda world (I used to own a Type-R) you should always layer your security.

I recommend putting your switch in a place only you know about (not in the place in the video, since it's now public knowledge) and make it a momentary contact switch and not a toggle.

Chances are, you'll forget to set it the night your car is stolen.

Wire it directly to the fuel pump so no matter what, only pushing the car or towing it will move it. No fuel means no start.
