EVO VIII RS: Install Pics from the weekend. 56K go die.

Did some major mods on my buddies EVO VIII yesterday. Took all day, but after driving it with the new mods, it was well worth it. I'll walk you through the day:

Here's the car getting ready for surgery:

Now for the mods:

Complete EVO IX Turbo
Bushcur Ported Intake Manifold
Buschur 65mm Ported Throttle Body
Intake Manifold Spacer/Heatshield Gasket
Throttle Body Coolant By-Pass Mod
Buschur Ported Exhaust Manifold w/ Black Jet Hoat Coating
Megan o2 Housing w/ Black Jet Hoat Coating

Before the install:

Intake Manifold and Throttle Body out of the car:

Here are comparison pics of the stock and ported intake runners with the old gasket:

Here are the comparison pics of the stock and ported throttle body mounting points on the intake manifold.

A couple action shots before starting on the turbo install:

Radiator out, and the stock turbo ready to come out next:

Stock turbo out:

A little love for the exhaust ports:

Old and New comparison of the turbo assemblies:

My buddy doing what he does best. Drinkin a beer, talking on the phone, and getting kicked in the nuts:

More pics of the new turbo/manifold/o2 housing/hotside pipe assembly:

And the final product:

As a safety, we turned the MBC down a notch just in case it was boosting more. Well, it was only boosting and holding 19psi, so we knew we needed to turn it up. Cranked it one full turn and took it back out. Spiked 27 and immediately fell to 25, then slowly fell to 22psi and held all the way to redline. Turned it back down a lil and got it to spike 25psi and hold 22psi. The car pulls soooooo much stronger now with that tiny VIII turbo out of there. A/F's were all good, staying right around 11.2-11.3 .
