STRI boost gauge faq

I have a question for everyone with this or any stepper motor gauge i have the stri boost gauge and i also have the hks evc5 boost controller and monitors boost but my stri gauge reads 2psi hi and the motor is slow for example full boost 2nd shift to 3rd then 4th i seems like the motor cant keep up and it goes all the way down to 20-25 vacuum then slowly reaches peak and falls by redline then im ready to shift and it all happens again. As for my hks it looks like it reads very acuratlly, and the display keeps up with boost changes very well. i have had the gauge hooked up to the inline with the fpr and switch it to the same line coming off intake manifold (the same line i have the hks boost reference). Id like to know if anyone else has or have this problem and what was the solution

The stock turbo does spool a fraction of a sec quicker than the Stri stepper motor. Nothing you can do about it unless you downgrade to a mechanical boost gauge. My Stri boost gauge reads identical to my Gizmo EBC MAP sensor.

How do you like your STRI gauges and your Gizzmo boost controller, I was thinking about running this exact setup. Not alot of ppl on here use STRI gauges or the Gizzmo boost controller.

Love it. The Gizzmo controller is one of the easiest EBC's to set up. It also does closed loop control which keeps boost a lot more consistent than an open loop controller. The Stri gauges are great. Defi-like except for the price.

this stri boost gauge sucks.

at idle i read 4 vac

when off its as 1.5ish vac.

boost is off buy about 1 to 2 psi depending how much boost you run and when you shift the damn gauge is very laggy in responsiveness

anyone else have this issue

I just hate the fact that I cant see the smoked lens xline gauges when in the sun which is 90% of my driving time--too much glare in Texas sun. Useless! In anything shaded, they are great. Oil pressure sender went out way too soon. ok, ok-- I should have just spent the money on gauges that worked.

its a boost line from the intake manifold to a sensor, then from the sensor to the back of the boost gauge.
