replicate jdm headlight anyone?

anyone know how to replicate the exact style of the JDM headlights for our evos? i've been reading DIY's from people that have done it but don't think i found anyone that has had the amber from the headlight taken out and painting out the bottom part just like the JDM ones. If anyone knows how to do this please tell me! had people saying that they were trying to take the USDM amber piece out but will cause something to break. Is it possible not to break it have it clear and get the bottom turn signal part painted amber ?? thanks let me know!

Top parking light: I don't think the top amber lense can be cleared. You'll have make one. That clear reflector part you see on the jdm headlights is actually part of the headlight cover. There are none on the usdm headlight cover. If you don't want to break the lense just be very careful but sometimes that may not help.

Bottom turn signal light: The jdm ones have an amber lense insert and the usdm headlight does not. You'll have to make one. Even if you find a set of jdm or euro amber lenses (nearly impossible), it won't fit in the usdm bezel. There are no tabs to mount them. Most people just paint the headlight cover, reflector or use amber vinyl. Also, the usdm headlight cover has a reflector and the jdm one does not.

There's even more work is your headlights don't have hid stock.

It would cost too much time and money to replicate the jdm headlights exactly. Your best bet is to buy a set of jdm ones and sell you usdm ones.

I took the top reflector piece out and painted the bottom signal part amber. Came out pretty dam good, I'm 100% satisified with it. Only obvious thing is that there is no clear reflector piece but who cares, I'm not spending $1,000 on a pair of headlights.

There is no way to get USDM lights to look exactly like JDM ones but you can get them pretty close. See on the attached pic how the parking light is etched on the inside? You can remove the amber on the USDM ones and it will be clear but not etched like this and as a result not look the same.
