Wondering if anyone has tried to shorten the 2 hoses between the reservoir and the pump down below? By doing so, would it have any bad/side impact on the ACD pump
yes you can you just have to mod the two mounts at the top of the res.
But would that have any negative impact on the ACD pump though?? Affecting the functionality at all? Also, have you tried doing so? If so, how much did you get yours shorten?
that's a nice mod but probably better suited for a track car. I am going to build an enclosure for my intake and will attempt to lower the reservoir out of the way
well this was fairly easy, just time consuming. it can be done much faster if you don't want to remove any of the ACD screws but the oil will spill and will need to be cleaned up.
I removed the lines one at a time and drained the reservoir then made sure not to tilt the ACD too much as to not drain any fluid from it so I don't have to bleed the system.
again this can be done by just cutting the hoses while the ACD is in its place and just reconnecting it. the two hoses hold the reservoir in its place pretty well so you could cut the whole mounting bracket or make something else. I decided to shorten it, although by shorting the hoses the reservoir is located in a slightly twisted position and does not line up well with the modified OEM bracket I made so I will make a transition for it.
I cut 3" from each hose and reconnected. and also shortened the bracket as can be seen.
Filled up just fine, car currently isn't running so I can't bleed it yet, downside is you need to remove driver headlight to fill, upside, a lot more room for activities where the reservoir was..
(Slight bumper modification required if you don't want it to rub at all.
