Looks great, defiantly something to do in the future =). As mentioned look into your local laws, bending or even covering portions of the plate in Texas (At least in El Paso) can get you a ticket. It would be an easy fix though, just make a bent bracket for it.

I am not too sure off the gauge but it is about 1/32" thick. I was able to cut it with tin snips pretty easily but I ended up using my $10 Harbor Freight die grinder and cut off wheels. I have only had her for a few months but I fully intend on driving all winter long. We use wonderful Mag-Chloride on out streets so I hope the durability is there in the thickness I used.

What was the thought/ strategy behind the "lips" on the back edges? Debris management? Airflow? JW.

Thanks! Search your local Craigslist ads and the sort, like I said this project cost me under $100, the deals are out there.

My thought behind the lips in front of the wheel was honestly to copy the Beatrush design, I'm sure they spent a few $$$ on r&d behind it. As for the channels running down the sides, I put them there to help with air flow under the middle of the car and I thought it would add a little strength to the part. It did help with rigidity and if I ever want to get rid of them I made it so I can easily bend them out of the way or cut them clean off.
