How To: Independent Fog Lights
After reading a few threads that said you could link them to your parking lights so they're on at the same time or others that used a switch on the dash, I didn't think that wasnt't good enough for me. This setup uses the factory switch and allows complete control of the fog lights. I will start by saying this is a lot of work just to have independent fog lights but it was worth it to me.
Needed:
5 SPDT Relays
Connectors for relays
Wire strippers
Electrical tape
Wire
Step One:
Unscrew the two phillips screws above the guage cluster and remove.
Step Two:Remove the fog light switch panel by gently pulling towards the rear of the car.
Step three: Wire up the five relays according to this diagram:
It should look like this:
Afterwards you should have four wires left.
12v, Ground, Switch, and Output
Step Four:
You can find parking lights, Switch, and ground at the fog light switch
Red- Fog light switch
Black- Ground
Green- Parking light 12v that I used for power. (If you want to have your fog lights on without having to turn on your parking lights you can wire this up to a constant 12v source or an ignition 12v source)
I tucked the relays in a space to the left of the cabin fuse box behind the headlight leveling switch.
Step Five:
Run the 12v ouput wire through the firewall (I used a hole that was there from my alarm.
Step Six: Open the fuse box and find the parking light realy under the hood
It's the one in red.
Pull the relay out and wrap a section of wire around what is pin 1 in this diagram. Plug the relay back in.
I also had to replace the right side parking light fuse with a larger amperage (20A) becuase the fogs are now powered off of that circuit.
Tidy up your wiring and reassemble everything. Now anytime your parking lights are on, hit the fog light button to turn them on and once again to turn them off just like normal only now they function even when your high beams are on. Good luck!
This is my first write-up and second post on the site so be gentle with criticism and feel free to ask questions.

nice job, its pretty impressive that you figured all that wiring out.
my only question is, can you clarify the below? why are you wrapping wire around it? to keep it from connecting?
also maybe i missed it but what did you connect the output wire to from the relay stack?

It's the one in red.
