How to: Power Steering Removal
How to: Power Steering Removal
i am new here so i hope noone gets annoyed with my question! i did some searching on the forum to see what i could come up with and i found some info but i had a few more questions.
what is the best way to remove it? it seems like a lot of people just leave everything hooked up and reroute the line back into itself.
has anyone actually taken the reservoir out of the car for a cleaner look?
if anyone has pics of how they did it that would be great!
TIA- chris

Hi guys,
I need your help/advise.
Yesterday I change & flushed the Steering Fluids and replace with MOTUL ATF-1A (Compatible with Dexron 3 as steering fluids). After I fill with the ATF 1-A, it produce weird sound if I turn the steering hard to left or right. I even tested on the road for almost 50km but problem not solve.
Some said:-
1. Might be some air trapped during the process & probably gone after few minutes drive but unfortunately not.
2. Tighten the steering belting?
3. Not compatible fluids?
I never had this problem before. Reason of changing the fluids is for maintainance after 2 years.
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you might still have air in the system..let the car run idle and turn steering wheel left to right a few times with the power steering filler cap off, to let the air bleed out.
IF not your belt could be old and cracked or the drive belt tensioner is getting weak.
your new fluid should be fine..hope you flushed out your old stuff to get it to a nice clean color
