Air/Fuel Gauge

Is it better to stick with a wideband air/fuel gauge or just tap one into the stock o2 sensor?

Way better to actually drill and tap a bung into the downpipe between the 10 & 2 o'clock position for an accurate reading.

I have an air/fuel gauge already that came with the car and I wanted to hook it up, but it is a direct tap into the o2 sensor....Would that be ok? I know it wont be as accuate as the wideband

the oem o2 sensor is a narrowband, to tune the car and get more accurate readings you need a wideband. Narrowband are used for base calibration from factory.

Just finished instaling my gauges today. the AEM's are nice. i need to change out the face plate on one of them, trying to decide with white or black.

I also made a RS 232 cable for Logging, use a FTDI chip based RS 232 to usb adaptor if you don't have a rs 232 port on your PC. The prolific chip set adaptors are iffy i found.

Thanks jrod,

And to locdizzle yes you can use this in the test pipe area. it is supose to be no closer than 36 inches away from the turbo.

I did them both in about 2 hours. I first had the shop next to my restaurant install the bung for the O2 sensor.

The gauge pod holder is really nice, looks totally OEM .

I think I am going to try to use the 0-5 volt out from the boost gauge to replace the input on the ECU from the stock MAP sensor and then make the changes to the XML file with EcuFlash. Just have to find the right formula and values for the 3.5 bar AEM map sensor.

I think it will work, this way I wont have to buy another MAP sensor to replace the stock 1 Bar MAP.
