Well idk how much help i will be, i went from the incorrectly arranged plates to the Weir plates. And my car has been down a while for other reasons. I have only driven it a little and only thing I can tell is, its def makes more noise but that seems to be the norm. Think i heard its a great upgrade for auto-x guys.

"When installing the the pressure ring into the differential case B, the groove should be faced in the direction shown in the figure. Otherwise it may case a malfunction"
Is this talking about flipping the plate or how it twists once it lays in there? I stripped a screw and am getting one in the morning so it isn't buttoned up yet. But, I didn't pay attention to the grove when I was putting everything back together. Everything fell in there nicely though.

The two pieces that hold the spider gears together. Look at them carefully one has a line going through it. If you dont put it in the right direction it wont work properly. It will lock up on deceleration. Instead of locking on acceleration. This is because it is still a one-way diff.

This is SO extreme. I have read thru this 3 times and I still lack the confidence to assemble my rear diff. Great write-up tho. What would you rate this on a scale of 1-10? 1 being a brake job, 10 being motor assembly.

It was easier than changing a transmission, and harder than brakes. So I would rate it a 3-4. It's a one person job, and pretty easy if you take your time to make sure you put things together properly, which is not a problem if you follow the instructions in this thread. I did it, using jack stands in my driveway, in two days - one day to drop the diff, open it, remove the LSD unit and loosen the screws; and one day to re-stack the plates, assemble the diff and put it back on the car. I could have done it in a day, but I like to take it slow. I also replaced my mustache bar bushing and the diff mounts with stiffer urethane pieces while I had the diff out. (I highly recommend that, BTW. I used Energy Suspension black bushings. they make the drive train feel noticeably tighter and got rid of a clunk that I was getting under quick shifts at autocross.)
