is 1" long bung required for the sensor that came with the kit? With it only the very tip of the sensor will be in the exhaust pipe

 

Yes will work fine. drill a hole in pipe at the 2 oclock position and weld bung to pipe.

 

Not necessarily required, but it will not affect readings and will make the sensor last exponentially longer. I used to have an issue where I'd go through O2 sensors while tuning, as soon as I welded in the 1" bung that problem ceased.
