Where to put wideband sensor in exhaust?

Hi. I'm looking to buy a wideband sensor for my IX and was wondering where to place the bung in the exhaust? I've got a custom elbow back exhaust so there's no test pipe with one already on. I've heard 18" away from the turbo, on the top of the pipe??

Any opinions appreciated

Always good to finish a thread, innovate who supplied my wideband recommend 24" from the turbo towards the top of the pipe to keep the sensor away from moisture

I put mine near my rear oxygen sensor, easy wire loom access, possible bung there already.

Do it passed the downpipe to exhaust flange. If you don't have a bung go to any local muffler shop, they have them in stock. I pay $20 for my bungs welded.

Also read up on what angle it needs to be at. I think like 2 o clock or something.

Closer to the engine the better, you will have more accurate results. Right after the turbo is a great spot if you don't mind welding in a new o2 bong. Its also a good spot because its easy to take out for required occasional calibration purpose ;-)

Bosch specs shows around 20-24 in. I can't put them to close to turbo cause of the temp
