Vortex generator help (what to use)
hey guys, i was wondering if anyone could shine some light as to what tape or adhesive to use when installing the vortex generator. I've heard that alot of them wont hold it well enough.
My other one has cracked and i cant stand walking by it everyday so i need a new one.
thanks

The previous owner of my Evo8 used a glue gun to stick my VG to the roof.
I drove around for the longest time wondering what the hell that random roof vibration was. Needless to say, even with nothing but the antenna holding it down, it should be good for 80mph
When you use the 3M tape, Make sure any and all dirt/oil is clear from the mounting location.

I went out to home depot got some real good stuff. Try the scotch double side outdoor tape. Holds real well. Definately worth the 4.95 but get two cause its not enough for the vortex generator

IF you are worried;
Theres a brand called SIKAFLEX.. automotive rated… Australian product.
its what Bodykit shops use to stick on bumper bars etc etc.
Basically what a panel beater told me in the past was that this product, once its ON… you will have a fun time if you ever wanted to remove it.
You can't heat it up and melt the glue as you would with tape….because it sets like rubber.; you have to "CUT or slice it" with a hacksaw blade or razor blade…
But i dunno if you wanna go that far.
I dunno what that bloke used the "first time round" .. but the 3M tape these days are pretty hardcore.
