torque solutions transmission mount problem. Evo 8

So this afternoon I removed my oem transmission mount and when I mounted it I relized the stock nuts will not work because of how thick the mount is. Has anyone else ran into this problem? I really need to put my car back together. Also I did put it in correctly and yes it is flush with the tranny.

The trans mount if you bought it brand new comes with hardware. 2 long bolts and 2 shorter.

They're just studs. Take two nuts, screw them on the stud and lock them together. Similar to how the rings on coilovers work. Then use a wrench on the lower nut until it breaks free. The top nut is there so the bottom one stays in place.

Hope you figured out ur issue!
on a side note, how were you able to remove the trans mount? I am in the process of swapping my mounts (cam side mount is done!) and was wondering if I could release the front cross-member, release the ucip from the tb, and start dropping the trans ...would this work? how did u do it?
Thanks in advance!

Well, you make it sound easy. It was not my experience. THe studs have the infamous Japanese white loctite on them and if the car has some age on it, you have a nice alum/steel interfernce as well. I used a MAP gas torch and stud remover with a breaking bar. The double nut trick would not generate near enough force to break them loose.

i didnt see where this was posted anywhere else so i thought i would add what worked for me.

I impacted off all 4 stock nuts.
Took 2 nuts and put on one stud. holding the lower nut with a wrench, I impacted the top nut tight to it.
then i put the impact back on the top nut (without holding the bottom) and was nice and easy on the trigger, and it slowly spun out the stud.

all four came out with ease.
