Defi Oil Psi over 140?!?!?

Alright so i hooked my oil psi gauge and and swapped my oil temp gauge out in the same spot (is this right first of all?) Now the gauge is reading all the way to PEAK! It does the full sweep on start up, i can change the "warning" alert on it, but its sitting all the way up there and its not moving. The gauge is daisy chained by one wire to the other gauge. Its also hooked up to the "oil psi" on the actual "defi link".....i have no idea what to do now......

Where do you have the oil pressure line running to ? The oil filter housing or somewhere else?

Hrmm.. Can you post the part # to the defi gauge kit you got? I'll see if I can dig something up for you...

But for now do you see any kinks in the oil pressure line? Or any possibility of something clogging it during installation (ie Teflon tape or something)? Also what weight of oil are you running in the motor?

Also 100psi + is normal during start up. Depending on the weight of your motor oil, you should be seeing between 15 and 35 psi at idle, warm (engine at operating temperature). If its reading 140psi at ALL times, like at idle warmed up, something is definitely up..

Seems like a wiring issue, I just shut my car off earlier and the gauge is not working...probably from the shake when it turned off. Got back in my car and its back at peak. When's driving the psi will not drop after driving or anything. Sounds like something dumb is screwed up

After reading everything, it sounds like it's just a bad sensor. Here's a few I found on ebay.

If your new sensor is faulty, I would send it back to the manufacturer for a replacement. I'd also test the sensor before buying a replacement..
