Removing the Infinity sounds system

Hello Everyone
I am in the process of removing my infinity sounds system in my evo8. Just wondering if anyone has ran into problems doing this. Or did everyone just put up with the infinity sound system?

Reasoning?

Are you replacing it with something else?

Are you shedding the whole thing for weight?

STM sells a wire harness for like $20 that allows you to keep the infinity sound system but upgrade the head unit alone. I used this harness and put a really highend pioneer radio in that has a flip up 7" screen and plays dvd's and the whole 9 yards. The infinity system still sounds great working off of the pioneer headunit and I have zero complaints. With this harness its total plug n play and couldn't be easier.

There I found it for you. This is what you need. My stock infinity sub in the trunk and all the other speakers still work great with this kit. I might eventually upgrade the speakers themselves too but as for right now everything is still working great. Just make sure to hook up the blue wire for the antenna trigger. There is a power wire that goes to the little antenna on the roof and without hooking that blue wire up no radio stations will come in so hook it up!! Good luck.
