Spoiler holes in trunk lid
I just recently purchased an evo 9 with a rs trunk lid on it. I have the original spoiler and want to put it on. I've done a lot of searching and couldn't find any good pictures or solid info. I'm wondering if anyone has a pic of the underside of the trunk where the holes are drilled. I know I could trade the trunk for one that is already drilled, I just think it'll be quicker and easier to drill the current trunk. I've read that there are flat circles where the bolts are supposed to go, but I don't wanna go drilling holes unless I'm 100% sure it's right. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
Honestly, I wouldn't drill your trunk. If you have a virgin trunk with no drill holes, then you have gold... There's a pretty good demand for a un-drilled trunk, I'm sure you could find a trade really quick if you posted it. Otherwise you take the risk of drilling it wrong and ruining a perfectly good piece..
If you don't have anybody close to that has a trunk that has a wing that you can look at, you can always mock it up by either cutting a piece of paper in the size and shape of the trunk, or just where the wing mounts up. Then get ink on the holes, place the paper, and find the mounting points. The ink should transfer to the paper, as long as you are careful and don't smear, and then cut the holes out on the paper. As you put the wing back on the car, put the paper under the mounts, and then tape the papers to the car once you are satisfied with the placement. You can then use the paper as a template/guide to drill your holes out. It is really easy, hopefully I didn't make it sound complicated. Goodluck!
