Turbo Install Question

So I have an early 03 Evo with the stock 16g 9.8 turbo which finally took a s*** I found a deal on an 05 turbo but its the 16g 10.5 hotside one. Is there anything I will need thats different to install it? Will the oil return line, coolant lines, J-pipe etc be the same or do I have to get different ones? Any help would be great, thanks!

Nope. Just bolt it on and go! You may have to bend the returning oil tube a bit, but should be ok. Turbo outlet tube should also be the same since 05 is still an "VIII".

everything is the same (install wise), easy swap if you know what your doing. only when u get the 9 turbo is when things get a bit different.

hard factor out of 5 is about a 2.

Thanks guys, ill post results after I am done, will be doing it this weekend. Also how many of the gaskets can I re-use? I was just going to buy new oil return line gaskets and possibly exhaust mani gasket.

I would replace the turbo to manifold gasket as well or use a good high heat sealant like Wurth with the original turbo/manifold gasket.

Should bolt right up as others have stated.

This might be a good watch before hand just to make sure you've covered everything.

I installed a turbo of EVO9 on my EVO5 and it was rather simple.
You have on to change all the joints (no joint eBay)
