What is this part called

My mechanic broke off the little stem that you connect the hose to.

That's a blow off valve. You have the weak plastic one. Just replace it with a metal one from the Evo IX and call it a day.

Please do not take this the wrong way but why are you letting a mechanic work on your car if he does not even know what a diverter valve is?

^^ this. I would not have that "mechanic" work on the car. you need a new mech. also, why dont you know what that is?... either way, get an oem evo 9 bov which is metal and you will be fine.

Yes, take everyone's advise and replace that leaking plastic piece with the IX metal one. I've got one I've been meaning to list for over a year now...pm me if you're interested

Definitely replace it with a metal one.
As mentioned it's a blow off valve
