Evo 8 ssl stereo wiring instructions.
Evo 8 ssl stereo wiring instructions.
I have been searching for the better part of an hour now for the instruction to wire an aftermarket cd player into an ssl evo and have no luck. I have the Metra aftermarket harness. I just need to know what the wires goto since mine didn't come with instructions.
Usually the metra harness wires are printed with what they go to. Look at the head units manual and it should tell you what each color wire is and just match it to the harness. You won't be using the speaker wires coming off the stereo but the RCAs. You should have 2 harnesses.

Yeah this one doesn't hence why I stated it came with no instructions...... So here is what I am working with. I am currently trying to install a Pioneer AVH-170 DVD Double Din DVD Player in the car. Here is what I have came up.
Red - 12v Continuous Power
Yellow - Memory/Battery
Blue - Power Antenna
Orange - Illumination (which is optional to use)
Blue/White - Remote to Amp
Can anyone verify that this is correct? Another issue that I am having is that the on the AVH-170DVD Unit there is no wire on its harness for Power Antenna. I have read that this can be tied into the remote wire for the amp if there is not one. Can anyone verify this as well? Cause currently the unit is getting no power at all.

Sorry, totally skipped that part. That looks correct and is your ground/black wire hooked up? And yes you can tap the antenna to the remote wire.

I'll have to grab a picture of it later cause I'm out of town today. I tested the DVD player by running it straight to the battery and it turned on so it eliminated the possibility of the head unit being bad. Also going to pickup a multimeter so can check the continunity of the power for the 12v continuos pin.
