MAP 02 Eliminator Downpipe Install questions.

Hey guys, I just ordered a MAP 02 Downpipe with the 02 eliminator (one piece) and I was wondering how the install went for you guys. I've heard anything from removing AC compressors to all sorts of shenanigans... Just want to know what has to be removed and how the install went for you guys...

2004 Evo 8 RS.

Thanks!

I didnt have to remove the A/C compressor, but if you take your time and be patient you should be done by sun down. What worked for ME was removing radiator, turbo and exhaust manifold , then installing the DP on the turbo and exhuast manifold then installing(from under the car ) them as one peice. Again this is what worked for me, everyone has there own methods on how to install these! Good luck!

I second this. With the radiator out of the way you will have more room to work. Plus your radiator won't get damaged.

Did this without removing the radiator or turbo... never again, it was awful. Take it apart, save yourself the headache.

Idk why anyone would buy this part. When you have to pull the tcase and/or trans out of the car, you're going to motherf#cking yourself because the down pipe has to come off...

I agree with you. I'll be doing my clutch soon and I'm regretting the removal and install haha but damn I love how it sounds at WOT!

I bought it, the problem I ran into was finding an O2 dump I liked to replace my cracked toxicfab unit. I overthought the issue, now I get to remove the turbo and downpipe if I want to switch out Oil Pan / Trans / Transfer.

You can buy an external dump O2 housing. No need to run a one piece O2 housing/down pipe.
