Videos are car behavior when running. Idle ranged from none without throttle to 3k cold starts with the different parts.
After a ton of searching, swapping, reading, etc... The consensus was "BUY OEM". Well, I wasn't ready to fork out top dollar with so many options out there in 2022. I tried cleaning every little bit to the point my car was farting carbon for a week.... no dice. I tried 3 of the different $30 Amazon bits and can confirm they aren't going to work. Decided to try things like the old days and check a parts store (O'reilly's) and found part# AC254. Problem solved @ $300.
Sure, I could've saved some time and bought the OEM part but, now I have an extra $100+ towards my next goodie. Figured maybe this information might help the next person searching for stable idle at a reduced cost..
Well crap, thought I was done after a week of no issues. Idle hunt/surge started up again last night with peaks around 3k. No codes of course... Gonna order up the OEM one today.
IAC = idle air controller
Notes: Car is mostly stock with coilovers and catback.
I do get the occasional EGR code after reconnecting the battery and 30ish miles (does not return once cleared)
Original OEM IAC removed due to super low or non-existent idle until warm. Idles perfect once the engine temps start to rise
Amazon IAC's gave extremely high idles and constant surging
O'reilly part was spot on for a week before idle surging
