Catch can problems

I have a 2006 evo 9 FP Red Turbo making around 500 hp with the radium catch Can.
I live in the cold. I have no smoke but when it freezes overnight after a long drive the next morning when I turn on the car, I have lots of smoke. I know it’s not coolant and I know my head gasket is fine because I did it five months ago. when I turn on the car, it smokes a lot but when I open the oil cap pressure is released and the smoke goes down. I think my catch can might be frozen. Does anybody have a different set up that I can run in the winter so this problem won’t occur anymore. (I know it has to do with temperature because I I tried to open my catch can when it was cold and nothing came out and then I let the car sit in my garage for two days in the warm temp and then open my catch can and fluid came out afterwards so I think it’s freezing)
Note I do not have a PCV. All I have is a hose from the valve cover going to a catch can with an external breather and then a drain
and on warmer days or less cold days, this I have no smoke at all
if anyone has any ideas or set ups with links or pictures, please let me know. Thank you.
