Thumbs up Engine Dampner for your EVO 8

Weapon R has released an awesome new product for the true enthusiast! These dampers hold down your motor and prevent it from rocking during launch and competition use. We tried one in our Project EVO 8 and love it!

One of the things that impressed us the most about the Weapon R Engine Damper is that the shifting improved remarkably. Shifting into gear during all conditions was much much smoother, and quicker. We attribute this to the fact that the damper holds the engine firmer, so the shift linkage doesn't move, and thus allows the car to shift smooth.

Wow, now I can officially say they make EVERYTHING for the Evo. Ill wait untill others report the same improved shifting before I can justify the purchase. BTW is install easy enough for us with very limited tools/experience?

Install is very easy. Check our install instructions above. It took us about 10 minutes to install.

The reason it says to secure the motor, is because you are removing two of three motor mount bolts. Just for safety, its recommended to secure the motor, but we ended up doing it without, since the motor mount is held with one bolt for no longer than a minute or so. All you need to do is remove the two bolts, slide on the bracket, and then put the two bolts back on. Easy!

Does this thing work with stock strut brace. Since it looks like it's going to raise the passenger side, would the stock brace fit back.

It seems like a great part to get...

Thanks

Man, what an awesome idea. I like this better then getting those super stiff engine mounts. I'm gonna save my money and buy this.

Well maybe I should have checked before ordering. Doesn't look like it will work with the stock strut brace.

Guys at ProStreetOnline. Can you verify if this will work with the stock strut brace? I may be making a false assumption but it looks like it won't work.

Yep! It's designed to work with the stock strut tower bar. You will have to remove the stock bar completely, and place it over both towers. Because of the height of the brace around the tower, it will be *slightly* off, but it will still fit well, and bolt in.

Enjoy!!
