Accuracy of MR boost guage....

While riding in my friends MR this weekend I noticed that when the boost hit it would peg out the guage at 1.5 and then drop..My question is how accurate is the guage and also since the guage only goes to 1.5bar when it hits the stop could it in all actuality be boosting more than 1.5?????

Thanks!!!

the MR boost gauges that come stock are the same ones that are an option on the regular Evo they aren't very reliable at all.

they suck, and yes they are the same ones that u can buy through the dealer for the gs-r. Change it now!!! haha I had the factory boost, voltage, etc gauges added with the car deal when I got the car. But I noticed the boost gauge reads really low, when I changed it to hks it reads fine now.

My gauges reads ok, max boost pressure reads ok as what mitsu claims on the MR specs 20.3 psi = 1.41 kg/cm2 @3500 rpm

1.5 is actually equivalent to 22.05psi. When I use to owned my Modified WRX I was boosting 20psi on 91oct on my FP18G upgrade turbo but when I took the car to have it tune by Dyno-Comp in Phoenix the Dyno Dynamic state of the art Dyno boost sensor was showing 18PSI instead of 20 PSI from my Autometer Boost gauge, that is 2psi of boost difference guys!!.

My point is that you can guess or speculate until you actually have the correct information. You might think that the stock mitsubishi boost gauge option is not accurate but you need feedback to verify it.

Evo MR boost gauge

The stock Evo MR boost gauge reads low. The reason that I know is that my Greddy Profec B Spec II Is showing Higher boost than what the MR crappy boost gauge is showing.

My 50 Cents

Derek

P.S. I hope the greddy unit is accurate
