Do you think a set of custom built IC pipes will have better fit and finish compared to these Helix pipes? Also, the cost of custom pipes will most likely surpass the introductory cost of these Helix pipes + black couplings unless you have a hook up. Are they going to be built from stainless or aluminum?

Noodle & Zeus - Sorry for the delayed response guys. There are no black couplings available as of yet. I'm not sure if they are going to be available anytime soon as the volume required is extremely high for black couplings as the material comes from the UK. Sorry
MarkSAE - In my estimation it would probably be extremely difficult to do the pipes for a reasonable price here in the US. I can tell you that it was us who developed the upper IC pipe for Helix (since the JDM ones are slightly different). Helix sent us 5 pre-production pipes for us to cut and modify, and even with most of the bends there, it cost us several hundred dollars to have a fabricator make just the upper pipe alone (took 3 tries). Not saying a good fabricator can't do it for cheap, but in my estimation, the amount of U and other aluminum bends it will take to do a complete set right (not to mention the turbo outlet side) and you're probably looking at at least a $500 price tag for the pipes (assuming ~$50/hour labor rates + material). Also the silicon hoses are pretty pricey, I think the cost almost as much as the pipes themselves. That being said, there would probably be big advantages to much larger pipes on a 400+whp car, compared to even most of the aftermarket pipes on the market. And if you got a hook up on a fabricator & a mandrel bender, then that would be the way to go
Cheers,
Gary

BTW, it'd also be a good idea to keep the number of welds down, as I'm told there's a good amount of turbulence created the more welds that are made on the pipe.

AZ3ar - Aluminum - stainless ones tend to soak up more heat and of course are heavier IMO
Cal will be back monday hopefully. I wish he was back sooner as I'm doing 3 people's jobs right now.
fareastkorean - Currently only the blue ones left in stock, our next shipment will be in 2-3 weeks.
Thanks!!
