Wait.. I thought a big deal with the Nisei was that the factory undertray did NOT fit with the Intercooler...? Myevostore confirmed this

with all those bars how well does the air flow to the radiator, the design looks very compact. Not bashing but there must be some pros and cons with all those bars. Im sure other companies could just make as many bars or fins so IMO there must be a reason why other companies are not doing it. Im not sure just a guess so if your willing to explain it would be helpful.

Correct me if im wrong but most JDM fmic's use tube and fin? Im sure both designs have its purposes but most track cars in japan use jdm parts only.

Flow to the radiator is unaffected. We just did some track testing a streets of willow with no change in coolant temps. The stock Calsonic radiator cools very well.

Most other companies don't make those intercoolers because they don't understand that there's a science to intercooling. There's air weight gain, row duty cycle and everything. Most other companies resort to a Spearco off-the-shelf core and call it a day. Also, most other companies don't want to invest the amount of money it takes to have a core made to your exact specs like Nisei Engineering has. A lot of manufacturers dont realize the sheer importance of fin desity and fin configuration. That's why they resort to off the sheft parts. We feel off the shelf parts compromise potential gains you could have. At Nisei Engineering it's all about maximizing every single thing. I assure you we can tell you anything you want to know about intercooling and the science behind it.

Tube and fin designs are done for two main reasons:

1. Cost
2. Weight savings

Bar/plate cores will weigh more than a tube/fin just due to the amount of material found on an bar/plate core. Bar/plate cores have more "heat sink" ability than a tube/fine. This aids in the intercooler resisting heat soak by distributing and dissipating the heat throughout the material (metal). Tube/fin intercoolers use much less material so it has a much much higher chance of heat soaking.

In addition, most other companies don't offer the amount of rows that we do simply because they don't make their intercooler capable of 700 - 800 hp like this one. Running 70 lbs/min you need as many rows as possible to keep the individual duty cycle of each row in the efficiency level. Once you go over the efficiency level you start creating unwanted heat because it's working too hard - same applies to turbos. Having custom evo-specific cast end tanks allows us to fit the largest possible intercooler without modifications to the bumper. At the same time with this core, you wont get a pressure drop on the stock turbo simply because the rows are fuctioning WELL below their max duty cycle.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
