If you upgrade the turbo to a white rabbit or something small you would want low to mid range power. if you look at the differences in the 272/264 and 264/264 the 272/264 makes about 8 more HP but looses a little bit on the bottom. for what your looking for i would say 272/264. Now for people that have stock turbos and will always keep it and auto cross the car and street only 264/264 is more than enough and no need for cam gears or anything a quick swap in tune and pick up 45whp. sounds like $1k well spent to me.

Thanks Greg.
If your 264/264 cams are similar results to say an HKS 272/272 then is your 264 really rated correctly. If your tryin to represent an identifer for your cams as using the 264 name then it would make sense. Otherwise it looks like straight 264's would be the best for anyone with a stock turbo, otherwise a 272i/264e would be the very best on those planning to stick with a stock turbo. Either way if I am reading this 272/272 is the wrong route to go with the stock turbo? I am looking into this although Greg I wish you would just make a consensus as far as what path to go with the stock turbo/aftermarket turbo's/etc. You may not know all the specfics although it would help us out.

either 264/264 or the 272/264 is better than stock on a stock turbo. it all depends on where you want the power I like 264/264 for autocross/roadtrack. the roadtrack/drag guys will like the 272/264 . the guys that live 1/4 mile at a time will like the 272/272. damn might have to put that one in the next magazine press release kinda catchy.
damn, I am still undecided on which cams to get. I narrowed it down to at least the 272/264 or both 272s.... Hmmm, above Greg stated that the 272s will be best if I upgrade my turbo later, and the 272s do give a little more topend. I want more topend than lowend, but the 272/264 is almost as identical just that it idles better and has more low to mid range to go with the topend. I am not sure if I will be upgrading my turbo in the near future so that is why I am still undecided
