There is no info on Ingalls website or on Corsport. Is it just basic sheet metal, or is it actually stainless steel? If it is stainless it could use a good polishing. If it is not, it should be painted or powdercoated to inhibit rust. There really aren't many aftermarket parts out there that do not pay attention to aesthetics, especially an under-hood piece like this. The dampner itself looks beautiful - but the brackets leave a little to be desired.

Also, one more question - are the brackets lazer cut or water jet cut? The edges are extremely sharp and will need a bit of smoothing before they can go on the car.

Thanks! And keep up the great customer service!!

Great questions....

I do know the steel that the brackets are made from is treated to inhibit rust.
As an example, The r&d brackets that we test for Ingalls dont get treated... the material is much rawer looking and quickly rusts. For what its worth, Ingalls also treats the bolts.

As for type of cutting, I will have to ask them.

I agree that the brackets could be anodized or painted or otherwise coated. I believe the big problem with them is maintaining a price point on this modification. Maybe an upcharge for coated brackets would be a good idea, I can bounce it off them.

Thanks and hope that helped...

Tai,

Thanks for the reply. Good information. I realize the pricing issues, more bling, more $$. Powdercoating probably would not add more than $5-10 to the cost. Painting would be even cheaper. Then the kit would look as good as it performs. In my opinion this would make the whole kit seem more "high quality", rather than looking like someone built the brackets in their basement.

If they do decide to look into this, I think that making it red to match the valve cover would be sweet. That is what I am having my powdercoat shop do to mine. Thanks!
