Attention Dyno shop owners/operators!
Attention Dyno shop owners/operators!
I came up with an idea. Not sure why nobody else has done this yet. I think anyone that owns or runs a dyno has had a strap that has gotten burnt by a down pipe, dump pipe, hot exhaust etc. It is extremely dangerous blah blah.
It happened to us and luckily no damage occured to the car. After that I got to thinking about this new product and contacted DEI, who sponsored our race program. I had them make some dyno straps.
The product is out on the market now and is called Dynaguard.
What it is a high tempurature fully enclosed cover that goes over your dyno tie straps. They are 3 feet long and are designed to accept any tie down strap.
All you do is put your tie down strap through it and it stays on permanently. It protects the straps from heat from the exhaust components and such.
We have intentionally placed our straps against the downpipes now and where it would have burnt through before there is no damage to the strap or cover.
Adds a ton of safety to operating the dyno. Since it was my idea, I'd highly recommend this. I actually would expect to see dyno manufacturers either including this or offering them with dynos in the near future.
Straps are $29.77 each. We are selling them for $22.50 each.
You can give us a call to order 440-839-1900.
Thanks.

as a former dyno operator myself, I'd highly endorse these products. On at least 3 occasions, I had an employee strap a car without regard to the wastegate dump outlet, and ended up losing a strap, subsequently having a very dangerous situation. It's truely a dyno operators worst nightmare. I'd recommend these to anyone who runs a shop with a dyno
Bump for a great product I saw a video of an Evo at one of my local dyno's get loose from a strap and it trashed the transfer case pretty bad. I know I would fell more secure if my local shop had these on there Dyno.

I was on Mustang Dyno's website....that machine retails for like $70,000-$80,000
If I ever open up a shop, I'd like to invest in this dyno....so that we can be on the same page

as a customer this would make me better about the care taken to the customers car.
also dont know how many people have had this happen on the dyno, is having your bumper melted by the exhaust hitting it when the car squats. i am not the only guy who has had this happen but it really sucks and the shop even used an exhaust heat wrap of some sort that just infused itself with my bumper.
so this stuff might work perfect for that also
