The Evo IX and VIII do NOT share the same plugs, they are different.

How exactly are the VIII and IX plugs different? Different brand, protruded tip, non-protruding, etc. . . ?

The stock plug for an VIII is an NGK BPR7EIX, or you can buy the same thing from Mitsu, only "official" OEM plugs have a little mitsubishi symbol on them for double the price.

The VIII won't even fit in the IXs head. They are that different physically. I believe they are made by the same manu, and they are both iridiums, but thats about it.
